The following mating pair was spotted on a dried leaf at the Central Catchment Nature Reserve in April 2025.
While the moth pictured above is Dysphania subrepleta, the caterpillars below are likely belong to the moth Dysphania malayanus because they were found on their host plant Carallia brachiata (Freshwater Mangrove).
Dysphania species are geometrid moths (Family: Geometridae). There are 5 species in Singapore. Two of them, Dysphania malayanus and Dysphania glaucescens had their details published in 2009 and 2010 respectively [1-2]. A sighting at Telok Blangah area was reported in 2017 [3].
